Getting this Right Could Make or Break Your Business

customer Feb 15, 2021

I get it.

I know how important it is for someone to know about your company, and remember you when they need your services.

Imagine what it would be like to create one line that resonates with people everywhere.

Okay, now try to imagine that you've spent thousands and thousands of dollars, creating an ad campaign that's running on the Superbowl in the United States.

How in the world did a company like Oatly come up with one line?

"Wow, no cow" is going to stand out to customers for months, or maybe even years?

Well, they did it by following a simple formula to create what's called a "one-liner".

See, a one-liner is a single statement you can use to help people realize why they need your product or service.

To get a one-liner that will either make or break your budget, you need to follow a simple formula to make sure customers will hear your message.

You see, there are three parts to a one-liner.

  1. One is the problem. State the problem or pain point that most of your clients face to the product.
  2. Talk about your resolution to the problem that you just stated.
  3. Three is the result. show how your customer will feel and what they get after you solve the problem.

See, when you spend a little bit of time creating a one-liner that helps customers remember how your company is going to solve their problem, you will beat the competition.

And if you don't, well, you're going to spend a lot of money on marketing that just doesn't work.

I mean, think about how simple and strange at the same time, the Oatly commercial really is.

I mean, all it was was the CEO playing the piano in the field of oats, saying, "Wow, no cow".

With that one line, he either added thousands of dollars to a company or he sent thousands of people away by making them want real dairy from real cows.

How did he create a one-liner?

He state the problem as:

  • People want milk that doesn't come from cows

The product is:

  • A milk product that doesn't come from cows

With the result of:

  • A solution of milk without cows
